The fishing derby is usually held some time in April. An annual work party is also held sometime in April and all members are required to help clean up the club grounds and to facilitate repairs. A children's Christmas party is usually held the week before Christmas.

The club sponsors a number of pistol teams and trap teams.

The club committees include: house and entertainment, building and maintenance, trap and skeet, grounds, rifle and pistol, pond, and archery. Club members are invited and should feel obligated to serve on these committees. The rifle and pistol committee meets on the third Thursday of each month in the member's lounge at 7:00PM. Trap and skeet meet the first Sunday of each month at 10:00AM at the Shooter's Den.

    10. Educational Classes

The club offers a Civilian Marksmanship Program for boys and girls to learn the safe handling of firearms. The club also offers hunter education courses and NRA certified instruction. Club members also volunteer their time to educate various organizations such as the Boy Scouts, corporate outings, and the like about the safe handling of firearms. Please contact any member of the Board for further information. These educational classes take priority over other club functions.

    11. Range Officers

Our ranges operate on a range officer basis. There are separate range officer qualification requirements for trap, skeet, and rifle and pistol. For example, a range officer for trap is not automatically a range officer for skeet or rifle and pistol. As recited in the specific rules found elsewhere in this booklet, no shooting is allowed on the ranges without a range officer present. The sole exception is the indoor pistol range which may be used by "qualified shooters" as set forth in this booklet.
